Make love, not war

It feels good. But that’s not all. It has amazing health benefits as well. Yes, we’re talking of sex and we recommend you have more of it. As frequently as possible – because sex doesn’t hurt. See how.

Sex and its many benefits

Sex enhances immunity

More sex, less sick days. Sex keeps our immune systems strong. Researchers at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania discovered that college students who had sex once or twice a week had higher levels of a certain antibody compared to students who had sex less often.

That doesn’t mean you can cut down on other things that keep your immune system running:

  • Eat right.
  • Have an active lifestyle.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Get your vaccinations in time
  • Always use protection during sex to keep sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) at bay.

Sex boosts libido

Having regular sex makes for a livelier sex life in that having sex regularly will increase your libido, says Lauren Streicher, MD, assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Women also reap benefits in that sex maintains vaginal lubrication, blood flow, and elasticity. All of that in turn makes sex feel better and helps women crave more of it.

Sex improves bladder control in women

Having a strong pelvic floor is important for women as it helps them avoid incontinence, which is the inability to hold urine, which often results in embarrassing spills. Good sex acts as a workout for the pelvic floor muscles. An orgasm causes contractions in those muscles, which in turn strengthens them.

Sex lowers blood pressure

Research has revealed a link between sex and lower blood pressure, says Joseph J. Pinzone, MD, CEO and medical director of Amai Wellness. Sex between two people lowers systolic blood pressure, the first number of the blood pressure reading.

Sex counts as exercise

Sex is good exercise, certainly not as great as a treadmill but not to be discounted at all. Sex uses 5 calories/minute, which is 4 calories more than what is used up when we watch TV. With sex, what you get are two benefits rolled into one: it bumps up your heart rate and makes use of the various muscles of your body. And consistency can maximize the benefits.

Sex lowers the risk of a heart attack

For your heart to remain healthy, you need a good sex life. Sex raises your heart rate keeping your estrogen and testosterone levels balanced. This hormone balance is essential as a disbalance can cause heart disease and osteoporosis.

Sex lessens pain

Not an aspirin but more sex. According to Barry R. Komisaruk, PhD, a distinguished service professor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, an orgasm releases a hormone that helps raise your pain threshold. Further, stimulation without orgasm also works. “We’ve found that vaginal stimulation can block chronic back and leg pain, and many women have told us that genital self-stimulation can reduce menstrual cramps, arthritic pain, and in some cases even headache,” Komisaruk says.

Sex reduces the risk of prostate cancer

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that men who ejaculated frequently (at least 21 times a month) were less likely to get prostate cancer compared with those who didn’t:  intercourse, nocturnal emission, and masturbation are all equally effective. Of course, there are other factors which affect cancer risk but sex certainly won’t create problems.

Sex improves sleep

Sex helps you sleep better. Orgasm releases prolactin, the hormone responsible for feelings of relaxation and sleepiness, confirms Sheenie Ambardar, MD. She is a psychiatrist in West Hollywood, California.

Sex eases stress

Physical intimacy with your partner alleviates stress and anxiety. Touching and hugging releases your body’s natural feel-good hormones. Sexual arousal releases a brain chemical that revs up your brain’s pleasure and reward system. Sex also boosts self-esteem and happiness. Ambardar insists: It’s not only a prescription for a healthy life, but a happy one.

WHAT IS A COOL MIST HUMIDIFIER?

A cool-mist humidifier is a device intended to disperse cool moisture into the air to increase the Humidity levels of a given space. But you might be wondering? Why do you even want to moist the dry air? What causes dry air? Don’t worry we have done the research for you to answer all this.

WHAT CAUSES LOW HUMIDITY IN YOUR SPACE?

As temperatures get lower during the colder winter season, humidity levels naturally drop. This is because cold air can’t retain as much moisture as warm air. Primarily, low indoor humidity is created when cold air, which carries a far lesser amount of moisture than warm air, enters the home and is heated, therefore lowering the atmosphere’s overall relative humidity. Low humidity can also occur in arid climates during summer as a result of excessive air conditioning, which removes moisture from the air as it operates. But should we even worry about this? Let’s find out what happens due to it?

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A ROOM HAS LOW HUMIDITY?

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that you keep the humidity in your home or workspace between 30 and 50 per cent. When the air becomes drier than that, it raises the risk of several types of health issues. dry skin irritated eyes dryness in the throat or airways allergies frequent coughs bloody noses sinus headaches cracked lips Aside from these health issues, wood and plants also get affected by dry air. If your plants are turning brown even after your intense care. Then don’t blame yourself for it. It might be happening due to low humidity in your space. But does having a humidifier even help the above health issues?

HOW DOES A COLD MIST HUMIDIFIER HELP?

Think about the last time it rained. Do you remember how the air felt after the rain stopped? You may have noticed a “crisp” feeling in the air. A cool-mist humidifier has a similar effect to the temperature of your room. Humidifiers add moisture to the air, which can benefit people with respiratory symptoms or dry skin during the summer months especially if you live in a dry, desert climate. This can also be a benefit during colder months when indoor heating makes the air hot and dry.

DIFFERENCE B/W HUMIDIFIER AND DIFFUSER
